Dreamweaver: Changing Status Bar Messages

The Status Bar is located at the bottom left of your Browser Window and displays both a default message and the URL for any links the user mouses over.

Step 1: Getting Started

  1. Begin with either a new document or an existing one you'd like to apply the Status Bar Message to. We'll apply the Status Text to the Link in the next step, "Behaviors Panel".
  2. Select the text or object you want to apply the Status Text to. I will highlight the words "Behaviors Panel. In the Behaviors Panel, select Set Text>Set Text of Status Bar.
  3. The Set Text of Status Bar dialog window will open. Enter any text you would like to have displayed. Click OK when you're finished.

Step 2: Tesing Your Page

Preview In Browser by hitting F12 and look at the Status Bar message.

That's all there is to it. Now the hard part: going thru the entire site and changing all the messages:(
